New nonprofit supports black female lawyers

A national organization for high-powered female attorneys of color was launched last week in New York City.

The group, the Corporate Counsel Women of Color, was founded by Laurie Robinson, CBS assistant general counsel.

The nonprofit counts New York City Human Rights Commissioner Patricia Gatling among its 650 members. CCWC, which will be based in Manhattan, will promote more diversity in the workplace and legal profession.
