Scripps Networks' Legal Department in New York is currently searching for an Intern to assist in the handling of a variety of assignments upon the request and under the direction of an attorney in the Legal Affairs department. Assignments may include the following: analysis of agreements (including distribution, talent and production agreements) that will be included in a contract management system that is currently being developed for Scripps Networks; case law and statutory research. Training to be provided and skills to be developed: The intern will have the opportunity to (a) become familiar with a variety of intellectual property license agreements, including talent, production and distribution agreements; (b) obtain experience working on legal research projects in a business setting. Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Candidate must be currently enrolled in law school and have strong organizational, verbal and writing skills. This is an unpaid internship for law school credit only. Intern must provide documentation stating law school credit will be given after completion of this internship. Scripps Networks is comprised of the lifestyle television brands HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Fine Living Network and country music network Great American Country (GAC).
